Shannon began her career as an elementary school teacher. Early in her career she decided to continue her education, receiving a masters degree in reading while also earning her National Board certification. Shannon enjoyed teaching both kindergarten and first grade for 11 years. When she was lucky enough to have a child of her own, she chose to stay home with her son, Harrison. Once Harrison was comfortably settled into elementary school, Shannon returned to the classroom, this time teaching preschool. Shannon truly cherished her years teaching young children and now brings her patience, organizational skills and love of helping others to Polking Law as a legal assistant.
Outside of work, Shannon enjoys volunteering at Harrison’s school and with her church. Family time is also important to Shannon, and she loves time with her husband, Chris and son, Harrison. Weekends on Lake Norman are one of their favorites! Shannon also enjoys time with her mother, sisters and their families, whether on family vacations or just spending weekends together.
